What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Like any part of a woman’s body, her lady bits change as she grows older due to the effects of aging, hormone changes, and life events like childbearing. These changes that a woman experiences not only affect the aesthetics of her genitalia but also the function, comfort, and erotic sensations. As increasingly more women, physicians, and the culture discuss the changes women face as they age, more options are emerging to help women feel and look their best. These means are officially called vaginal rejuvenation.

Do I Need Vaginal Rejuvenation?

The physical changes that women go through as they age can vary from woman to woman. However, many of these changes include:

  • Vaginal laxity
  • Stress urinary incontinence
  • Loss of vaginal lubrication
  • Decrease in erotic sensation
  • Loss in tone of labia majora.

These changes can dramatically affect a woman’s quality of life.

Vaginal Laxity

Vaginal laxity happens as a result of stretching and trauma due to vaginal or natural childbirth, and aging. Women who have given birth vaginally to multiple children, a bigger baby, or undergone a forceps delivery are more prone to experience this condition.

Symptoms of Vaginal Laxity

Loss of sensation during intercourse Decreased sexual satisfaction and function Vaginal laxity not only can affect a woman’s sexual satisfaction but can also affect her well-being and body image.

Means of Treatment

Though pelvic floor training and Kegel exercises can help to alleviate the symptoms, other means of treatment can be necessary, to truly find improvement. Laser and RF treatments can provide non-surgical means of stimulating collagen production and improving tightness. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) shots deliver growth factors that can also stimulate collagen production and tissue rejuvenation. These non-surgical means of treatment carry fewer risks than vaginoplasty, which surgically closes the gap where the vaginal muscles have stretched apart.

Stress Urinary Incontinence

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) happens when urine leaks out with sudden pressure which also causes the urethra’s sphincter muscles to open momentarily. Risk factors include:

  • Age Pregnancy and childbirth
  • Overweight
  • Smoking
  • Chronic coughing
  • Nerve injuries in the lower back
  • Pelvic surgery

Activities that apply force to the bladder such as exercise, sneezing, laughing, and coughing can also cause leakage due to SUI. According to the Urology Care Foundation, one out of three women age 60 will experience leakage and half of the women over the age of 65 leak urine.

Symptoms of SUI

Frequent urine leakage (a few drops and up to a tablespoon) Mild SUI will result in leakage only when doing forceful activities such as sneezing, coughing, lifting something heavy, and even standing up or bending over If you have stopped leaving your home or exercising, having sex, and have changed your relationships due to your fear of leakage, it is time to seek professional treatment so you can enjoy your life once again.

Treatment of SUI

Though there are means to manage SUI with daily exercises such as Kegels, often treatment can provide a means to help alleviate the issue. Urethral injections are a means to help bulk up the urethral sphincter muscle which can help it close more effectively. Other more invasive treatments are available. It is always best to consult your doctor about the best treatment options for you.

Loss of Vaginal Lubrication

Loss of vaginal lubrication can occur due to hormonal changes as a woman ages. However, those women who have undergone radiation treatment for cancer can be at a higher risk for loss of lubrication.

Symptoms of Loss of Vaginal Lubrication

Without lubrication, women often experience painful intercourse which can significantly affect their quality of life as well as their relationships.

Means of Treatment

Loss of vaginal lubrication can be alleviated with laser and RF treatments which stimulate blood flow and can improve the production of lubrication.

Decrease in Erotic Sensation

A decrease in erotic sensation can happen as a result of loss of vaginal laxity, decrease in lubrication, and other changes to the vaginal area from age, pregnancy, and other factors making the achievement of orgasm and pleasure during intercourse incredibly difficult.

Symptoms of Decrease in Erotic Sensation

  • Loss of sensation during intercourse
  • Decreased sexual satisfaction and function
  • Pain during sex
  • Impossibility to achieve orgasm

Means of Treatment

Laser and RF treatments can help to tighten the vaginal area while PRP injected into the clitoris and vagina can also increase sensation. Fillers can be injected into the “G spot” to also increase sexual pleasure. These treatments can greatly increase sexual satisfaction, allow for the possibility of orgasm, and give a woman a better quality of life.

Loss in Tone of Labia Majora

As we age, we experience a loss in tone in a variety of areas of our body and our lady bits aren’t any different. As a woman ages and experiences hormone changes, her labia majora can begin to lose volume and have too much skin. Treatment can help to improve aesthetics and overall satisfaction.

Means of Treatment

Fillers injected into the labia majora can help to increase fullness and decrease loose skin while RF and lasers can help to tighten the skin. Though labia majoraplasty is available as a means of treatment, it also brings with it the risks associated with surgery.

Is Non-Invasive Vaginal Rejuvenation For Me?

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, non-invasive vaginal rejuvenation may be for you. The procedure available allows you to experience the benefits without the risks associated with surgery. What’s more, these treatments can help you to experience more confidence, greater well-being, and more satisfaction in life and your relationships.

Atomic Woman by Atomic Beauty

At Atomic Beauty med spa in Frisco, we offer a combination of treatments to provide you with the results you desire. This combination of treatments allows us to offer you what we like to call Atomic Results.

We Offer

  • Inner rejuvenation
  • Outer rejuvenation
  • G-shot Rejuvenation shot (PRP)

All treatments can be performed over the period of one’s lunch break, are non-invasive, and require no downtime.

What to Expect During Treatment

To help you achieve your desired results, we use the Ultra Femme 360 laser to help stimulate the inner and outer parts of the vaginal area. Patients experience minimal to no discomfort during the procedure. For injections, numbing cream is applied to the area prior and patients rarely experience discomfort after the procedure. When PRP is applied, a small amount of the patient’s own blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge. Once the platelets separate from the other parts of the blood, the PRP is ready for injection.

Though many patients experience results right away, some experience it a few months after their treatment. We also recommend three to six sessions for the best results. The treatments we at Atomic Beauty offer can not only help to improve your confidence but can also help you experience better health and greater sexual satisfaction.
